The single most common question we get is also the simplest to answer badly: what does a month cost. The honest version takes a few minutes, because a monthly stay is not thirty nights added up. It is a different rate, built for a different way of living, and once you see how it is put together the number stops looking mysterious.
Start with the headline. A monthly stay with us runs 50% or more below the nightly rate. Not a coupon, not a seasonal promotion. A month is simply priced as a month, the way a lease is, because a guest who stays thirty days costs us far less to host than thirty guests who stay one.
Why the month is so much cheaper
Most of the cost of a short stay is turnover: the cleaning, the linen, the coordination between one guest leaving and the next arriving. Spread that across one long booking instead of thirty short ones and it nearly disappears. We hand most of that saving back to you in the rate. The longer you stay, the less each night has to carry, which is why the discount grows with the length of the booking.
A week earns a discount. A month changes the maths entirely.
What the price includes
The rate covers the apartment, fully furnished and equipped to live in rather than just sleep in: a working kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, clean linen and towels at the start, and a desk in most homes. Utilities run on an estimate that is built into the price, sized to normal use for the apartment.
That word estimate matters, so we will be plain about it. It is not flat all-inclusive. If your usage stays within the estimate, the price is the price. If you go well over it, over a long winter with the heating on, say, we bill the difference, and only the difference. You pay for what you actually use, never a padded round number.
One thing we do not do is weekly housekeeping. The apartment is cleaned and prepared before you arrive; during a long stay it is your home, not a hotel room, and it is yours to keep. If you want a mid-stay clean we can arrange one, but it is a choice, not a line item you are paying for by default.
How you pay
For longer stays you can pay up front or month by month, by card or by bank transfer. Card payments carry a processing fee, so for a multi-month stay a transfer usually works out cleaner. We will lay both options out before you book; there is nothing buried.
Minimum stay and extensions
The monthly rate starts at 28 nights. Below that, shorter rates apply, and if you are weighing the two, we wrote a separate piece on short stay versus monthly. You do not need to know your exact departure when you book. Stays run from a single night up to two years, and extending is usually a matter of a message, subject to the apartment being free. Plans change; the booking can move with them.
Cancellation on a stay of 30 days or more works on a sliding scale rather than a single deadline. More than 30 days before check-in, everything paid in advance comes back, rent and utilities alike. Between 15 and 30 days, half the first month is charged. Inside 15 days, the first month is charged in full. Promotional and discounted rates are non-refundable whenever you cancel, and the same terms apply to date changes. There is also a satisfaction guarantee on stays of 61 nights or more booked without a viewing. The full text, including extenuating circumstances, is in our cancellation policy.
